Time to clean out the storage locker and break out the Sabre sunglasses and any other assorted streetwear from Animal, Ocean and Earth, Ezekiel and some vintage Split, NFA and Savier gear and set it up for consumers to spend their hard earned dough.

I guess the summer can lull a person into a false sense of relaxation BUT!! Summer's over and the pre season rail competitions are well under way. So without further adieu I want to announce offically the addition of Patruck D Hrivnak to the Vert Agencies family. Pat got his first Signal board last week (153 OG) and Celsius Cirrus boots and promptly put them to good use at the Georgian College jibfest taking home second place!! Georgian College Jibfest on Halloween

The annual Georgian College Jibfest went down this past weekend on Halloween day. Signal and Vert Agencies riders Brandon Morris, Mark Goodall, Brady Swartz, Pat Hrvniak and Sam Denena were all in attendance and placed well. Congratulations to Mark for taking first and Pat for taking second as well as Sam for finishing second in the ladies division. Will post some photos next but in the meantime here's some video that Mark sent me a link to. Mark is in the blue (?) hoody, Brady is bright blue pants and Pat is dressed in the Caveman costume.

Eddie Van Halen Sues Nike Over Shoe Design Sports

Guitarist Eddie Van Halen filed a lawsuit against Nike in Los Angeles, alleging the company is using his trademarked red, white and black striped guitar design for one of their shoes. Nike's "Dunk Lows" shoes feature red, white and black streaks along the midsole. The lawsuit comes as Van Halen has come out with his own line of sneakers under a similar color-scheme.The suit, according to a report by KTLA TV in Los Angeles, states that Van Halen received a 2001 copyright for the design on the body of his "Frankenstein" electric guitar.Van Halen claims Nike is doing "irreparable harm and damage" to his signature design. He is seeking general and punitive damages, all profits arising from the sales of "Dunk Lows" and a permanent injunction halting production of the Nike shoes.In mid-April, Van Halen formed a partnership with New Jersey-based FEA Merchandising, a company specializing in recording-artist merchandise, to release both high- and low-top canvas sneakers with red, white and black stripes. The shoes were set to be sold at EVHgear.com, as well as select department and specialty stores. The men’s shoes are also available in black and white as well as black and yellow.

Does Obama's grasp of alternate media sources and methods make him a better leader? You are welcome to make up your own mind on that one, but in my opinion it at least makes him a more relevant one. I'm a little more at peace with the likes of designer Scott Thomas hired to work on Obama's campaign than some of the political "wranglers" hired to keep other politicians "in line". Apples and oranges maybe, but if a politician doesn't have to worry about his or her own gaffs, then maybe they have more time to focus on the message and how it gets delivered.

West 49 Inc. said its board of directors has unanimously rejected theunsolicited proposal from Adrenalina "as it does not believe that pursuing Adrenalina’s proposal is in the best interests of West 49 Inc. or its shareholders." The board of directors noted that Adrenalina is an unlisted U.S. public company that has recently indicated that it does not have the financial resources to file its legally required annual report, that has an unproven business model and operates a very small number of highly expensive retail stores in the U.S., and that has recently made a similar and unsuccessful unsolicited attempt to acquire Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc.West 49 Inc. affirms that it has had no prior discussions with Adrenalina regarding this or any other type of potential transaction and is not aware of any interest previously expressed by Adrenalina in West 49 Inc.’s business.As reported, Adrenalina on Monday Adrenalina made a bid to acquire West 49 Inc., the Burlington, Ont.-based action sports retailer. Adrenalina made an offer of Canadian 55 cents per share in cash and stock, valuing West 49 at Canadian $35 million (U.S. $29.7 million).

There are oversights and then there are complete mental meltdowns. In my last post I casually set out to thank an assortment of people who helped out and/or made the weekend at the Toronto Clothing show more bearable. In doing so I managed to over look the one individual who went the furthest out of his way and participated in most likely the most thankless task. John Lidstone drove down from Victoria Harbour for the end of the show on Sunday to help me pack up. With a still healing ankley John slogged heavy garment bags back and forth to my truck and managed to ring his bell a few times on the roof of the cab while loading. All so I could rush out of there to pick up my son in Barrie. Only to have me leave him out of my thanks in the last post.

Well, John, this post is for you and I'm truely sorry for my oversight. I'm gonna blame it on the lack of coffee and a combination of sleep deprivation and leftover exhaustion from the weekend.

Some days I really suck......and this is one of them.

Okay, it's Monday morning and I'd rather be doing this than paying my bills (or the ones that I can afford for now)........and yes, I did have pizza for breakfast but what do you care (leftovers rule!!). I (and those others who kept me company) have survived "The Clothing Show" at the Better Living Center this past weekend and I wanted to thank the following people: Dallas (for the couch and the conversations), Natalie (for watching Keaghan), Jon (for an awesome late nite dinner), Trevor (for setting it up and helping me with move in and everything else), Brandon, Brady, Alex, Joe, Yuri, Terry and Connor for all stopping by, the My Pet Ninja guys for breaking the monotony, James (for lunch on Sunday) and the Cronnies' girls for brightening up the place and helping fight the boredem. If I can get them uploaded I'll post the pictures soon (all two of them). That's it for now....

Oh yeah, I didn't sell nearly as much as I thought I would. I still have over ten garment bags of clothing left; streetwear, outerwear, 1st layer, boardshorts to bikinis. If anyone wants to set up a private shopping session just drop me a line. It's all priced at or below cost!!

After phsyching everyone out and going another weekend I think Blue is finally closed for the season. This shot is from the second last weekend (Easter). Who needs a chairlift when you got a hike-a-park. Thanks to everyone who made it a sick season and screw off now cause I need some rest!!!!

Been awhile since my last post. Logged over 3,000 km's on the road showing the new 09/10 lines. Two trips to the Ford dealership as well (both unscheduled and rather unwelcomed). Westbeach is almost wrapped up but Signal, Drop and Celsius are really just getting started. Every week there is a new dealer who wants to see the lines. Welcome aboard for next year to Hogtown in Toronto for Drop and Westbeach and to Kahuna's in Orillia for Celsius, Drop and Westbeach. Will update more when I have time and the brain cells to devote to it. Make sure you head out to Skool and Gel this week for the PartyWorks party. Win and Signal snowboard or a Westbeach jacket.

Element x Steven Harrington “Our Mountain” Skateboard Decks

Steven Harrington’s “Our Mountain” exhibition has been traveling Europe all of last year. For the exhibition Element had produced a couple of special Cruiser skateboard decks. Now Element will release the boards, reproductions of the originals from the show in new colorways, as well as regular boards with Harrington’s artwork. Overall the set consists of 6 decks and should be available soon.

Unofficial congratulations to Elliot Catton for his successes at last weekends Nor Ams snowboard competition out west (Calgary??). Will update further when I have more information.

Several Vert riders were at the Meltdown competition last Saturday as well. Couldn't make it myself but it sounded like a well run event and a fun time.
